Each plan includes local data for a fixed number of days starting when you activate your eSIM.
For example, a 7-day plan stays active for 7 days from your first connection.

An eSIM is a digital SIM that lets you activate a mobile plan without a physical SIM card. You simply scan a QR code to get connected instantly
After purchase, you’ll receive an email with your QR code and setup instructions. Scan it using your phone’s camera or go to Settings › Mobile Data › Add eSIM to activate.
You can install your eSIM before you travel (while connected to Wi-Fi). Your eSIM will then activate automatically when you arrive and your phone connects to the local network — no extra steps needed. Your validity period starts from that first connection.
Yes — most newer phones let you store multiple eSIMs and switch between them easily.
For example, you can install your Japan eSIM, Australia eSIM, and Europe eSIM before you leave NZ, then activate the right one when you arrive in each country.
👉 Just note:
- Only one data eSIM can be active at a time.
- Your 73 Fly eSIM will start counting days only when it first connects at your destination.
If you’re visiting several countries in one trip, we also have multi-country plans (like Asia 7 Country or Europe 30 + Countries) — these automatically connect as you cross borders.
Yes, most plans support personal hotspot — perfect for sharing data with your laptop or other devices.
Our eSIMs are data-only, which means they don’t include a local phone number and can’t make or receive traditional phone calls or SMS texts over mobile networks.
However, you can still make calls and send messages using data-based apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage, Messenger, Telegram, or Skype — just as you would on Wi-Fi.
If someone needs to call you, they can reach you on those same apps while you’re connected to your 73 Fly eSIM.
In short: You’ll stay fully connected — just through internet-based calling rather than standard mobile voice or text.
